The war has fundamentally reshaped Ukrainian society, introducing constant anxiety for loved ones, forced displacement, painful losses, and deep fatigue accumulated over the years into every household. In this reality, preserving mental health has become just as critical as maintaining physical well-being. The demand for qualified psychosocial aid grows daily, requiring concrete and systematic solutions.
Two years ago, with the strategic backing of the BGV Charity Fund, the Resilience Center was opened in Zhytomyr. This space was designed to respond to modern challenges with direct, actionable support. Over this two-year milestone, the Center’s specialists have conducted thousands of individual sessions, hundreds of therapeutic group meetings, and crisis consultations, establishing a safe environment where people could finally articulate and share their inner struggles.
The Center’s operations encompass various groups requiring tailored support:
Mothers learning self-regulation techniques to remain a stable pillar of support for their children;
Servicemen and veterans processing profound experiences for which there are no simple words;
Local residents and internally displaced persons seeking and finding not only practical guidance but also a secure community of peers.
Throughout these two years of continuous operation, 16,202 individuals received professional psychosocial assistance at the Center. Behind this figure lie real, intricate, and sometimes incredibly painful human lives. Each of these stories serves as the ultimate reminder of why the team’s mission is so vital.
The Resilience Center team extends its heartfelt gratitude to the partners, donors, and civil society organizations who believe in this cause and choose synergy for the welfare of the community. Ukrainians have long proven to be the definition of resilience, but navigating this path together is always easier. The shared journey of mutual care continues.
