Relocation due to the war, loss of home, fear, and loneliness — these are the challenges faced by 17-year-old Maria, an internally displaced person (IDP) from Myrnohrad. The beginning of a new life in Zhytomyr was accompanied by a period of isolation and anxiety.
However, by attending the “SviTY” youth space in Zhytomyr, the girl managed to overcome the psychological barrier. Integration into a new environment, support from qualified psychologists, and communication with peers helped restore emotional stability and openness to the world.
Currently, Maria clearly defines her plans for the future: the main goals include enrolling in a medical university to become a rehabilitation specialist, traveling, and volunteering to help animals.
The “SviTY” space for teenagers in Zhytomyr operates within the framework of the “Kids of Ukraine” initiative with the support of the BGV Charity Fund.
