BGV Charity Fund and the Embassy of Germany Launch a Project to Equip a Shelter at a Hospital in Kherson

The Kherson region remains one of the most heavily shelled areas of Ukraine. According to the regional administration, over the past month alone the region endured more than 2,000 attacks, 432 of which struck the city of Kherson itself. During every shelling, local residents are forced to seek shelter to wait out the danger and feel at least somewhat protected.

The situation is particularly challenging for medical institutions. Doctors and patients must also move to shelters during air raids, yet most hospital basements are not properly equipped for the safe stay of people. As a result, patients and medical staff risk their lives every day while remaining in hospitals under fire.

That is why BGV Charity Fund is launching a new project in Kherson — equipping a shelter in one of the city’s hospitals. This important step will provide patients and staff with proper conditions during air raid alerts and emergency situations.

The project is being implemented in partnership with the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine. The total cost of the renovation works exceeds UAH 1.3 million.

This initiative continues the Fund’s systemic efforts to create safe spaces in medical and social institutions across Ukraine. Together, we are helping communities adapt to new challenges and ensuring that care and support remain accessible even in frontline regions 💙💛
