As part of two groups within the project, 75 children from different parts of the Zhytomyr region enjoyed a holiday in Estonia. A rich leisure program was designed for the children: excursions in several Estonian cities, trips to the sea, games and workshops, and evenings by the campfire together with Estonian peers.
“Our cooperation has continued since the start of the full-scale invasion, and we are very grateful for that. The Government of Estonia and the Tallinn City Council are reliable partners who support Zhytomyr region and Ukraine as a whole in various ways — through humanitarian aid, financial backing for our initiatives, and more. It’s wonderful that the children of Ukrainian defenders can spend time at a summer camp abroad after a challenging school year filled with air raid alerts and bomb shelters. Especially now, when most summer camps in Ukraine are unfortunately closed due to the security situation. Today, we have several other large joint projects with our Estonian partners, including a program for free prosthetics and rehabilitation for Ukrainians who lost limbs due to the war. We are also considering several more projects for medical rehabilitation and psychological support for both service members and children in the future,” said the head of the fund, Polina Aldoshyna.
Note: The project was initiated by Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and funded by the Tallinn City Council. The initiative aims to support families of fallen service members and those currently defending our country. The BGV Charity Fund team ensures the financing of international logistics and handles organizational matters.
