International Day of Play for children from the “SviTy” center in Zhytomyr

BGV Charity Fund implemented a project to purchase board games for displaced teenagers undergoing psychological rehabilitation in the safe space “SviTy” in Zhytomyr. This initiative became possible thanks to winning the grant competition “International Day of Play Initiative” supported by The LEGO Foundation.

The fund received funding of 80,000 UAH, which was used to purchase 74 modern board games. All of these games were donated to the “SviTy” center, where they are used in work with teenagers affected by the war and forced displacement.

Play is not only a form of entertainment, but also a powerful tool for development and emotional support. Board games help build trust, improve communication, reduce anxiety, and restore inner resilience after traumatic experiences.

As part of the project, three special events were also held for 80 teenagers:

✅ Children’s play festival
✅ Play marathon for teenagers
✅ “Play and Grow” marathon-training

These events created a safe space for teenagers where they could express themselves freely, develop, make new friends, and receive support in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The BGV team sincerely thanks The LEGO Foundation and the ChangeX platform for their trust and support of this project.

Together, we create conditions where children and teenagers can feel safe, grow, and believe in the future again.
