BGV Charity Fund actively supports large-scale cultural projects of national significance. In particular, the Fund served as the general partner of the exhibition “Treasures of Crimea: The Return”, displayed at the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine and the Institute of Public Communications.
The exhibition opened on July 5, 2024, and will continue until Crimea’s de-occupation. Until then, every visitor will have the opportunity to see unique artifacts and feel their connection to Ukraine’s rich and ancient culture.
The “Treasures of Crimea: The Return” exhibition is a powerful victory in the struggle for Ukraine’s cultural heritage, a testament to a millennia-old history reflected in the cultures of many peoples, and an affirmation of the rule of law.
The display features 565 artifacts, whose return followed 10 years of legal battles over ownership rights between Ukraine and museums located on territory temporarily controlled by Russia.
The exhibition’s opening was attended by Anna Butkevych, co-founder of the BGV Charity Fund. Among the guests were the First Lady of Ukraine, representatives of the Presidential Office, diplomats, government officials, public and cultural figures, opinion leaders, and media.
As part of the “Treasures of Crimea: The Return” project, a charity necklace was created in collaboration with GUNIA Project, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, and the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine. The necklace, adorned with figures of a doe and a griffin, was inspired by the jewelry art of nomadic peoples, particularly a vessel handle in the shape of a doe dating back to the 1st century AD.
This piece was designed to commemorate the return of the Scythian treasures to Ukraine and, at the same time, support Ukrainian defenders. 100% of proceeds from sales were directed by the BGV Charity Fund towards purchasing electronic warfare equipment for the National Guard’s AZOV brigade, with a total fundraising goal of UAH 1,000,000.
Project partners: Uklon, PrivatBank, and Vodafone.
