As a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by Russian forces, dozens of settlements in the Kherson region were flooded, and thousands of people lost their homes.
In the first days following the catastrophe, BGV Charity Fund’s partners initiated aid for those affected by this terrible crime.
The German charity organization #WeAreAllUkrainians and the British charitable foundation The Eneida Foundation allocated nearly €60,000 to support residents of Kherson and nearby villages.
Thanks to these partners, 800 comprehensive food and hygiene kits were purchased and distributed to pensioners, people with limited mobility, and other socially vulnerable groups, along with 100 kg of pet food.
For the local volunteer team “What Have You Done?”, who were working to pump out water and sludge, the Fund and its partners provided generators, motor pumps, water pumps, hoses, and flashlights.
To support home repair efforts, additional equipment was purchased and delivered using partner funds — including heat guns, gas burners, stoves, and gas cylinders.
