A Christmas miracle for children from frontline areas

During 2022–2023, the BGV Charity Fund, together with its partners, implemented the project “A Christmas Miracle for Children from Frontline Areas”, through which 15,000 children from socially vulnerable groups, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and those living in frontline regions received Christmas and New Year gifts.

In the final month of 2023, the BGV Charity Fund team traveled thousands of kilometers to greet children for St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, and New Year. Representatives of the Fund visited communities in Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Odesa, and Kherson regions.

The gifts were distributed to children from vulnerable groups, IDPs, those who had shown achievements in school or sports throughout the year, and young Ukrainians living in areas close to the front line. Some of the gifts were delivered to settlements located just a few kilometers from active combat zones.

At the same time, the BGV Fund also took care of organizing festive events for the little ones. Beloved fairy-tale characters entertained the children with cheerful performances, group activities, and dances, while a traveling puppet theater performed special shows.

In 2024, the BGV Charity Fund team continued the project and brought joy to another 5,000 children from vulnerable groups living in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions.

Each gift bag included:

  • A set of healthy sweets

  • A LEGO toy

  • A board game

The cost of one such set was 675 UAH. The total cost of the project amounted to 3,375,000 UAH.

In 2024, two new partners joined the project: the Equides Club park-hotel complex and the WISH AQUA&SPA RESORT country complex. As part of the partnership, a percentage of the accommodation cost at these hotels was donated to the charity initiative. Together, we created a true miracle for the children!

At the same time, the BGV Charity Fund expresses sincere gratitude to the partners who joined the project in 2023: Hanseatic Help, #WeAreAllUkrainians, Make It Real Foundation, FC “Polissya,” and “Zhytomyrski Lasoshchi.”
