Support for the National Heart Institute

BGV Charity Fund donated a Venue ultrasound system with a transesophageal probe worth UAH 4,070,000 to the Heart Institute.
This high-precision equipment significantly improves diagnostic quality and enables doctors to perform real-time transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). According to Vitalii Demianchuk, Deputy General Director for Cardiac Surgery at the Heart Institute, the use of an ultrasound machine with a transesophageal probe is essential during heart surgeries.

“This equipment is critical for us. Unfortunately, not every hospital has access to such a system because it is very expensive. We are grateful to now have it. Ultrasound examinations with equipment of this kind provide highly accurate intraoperative studies of the cardiovascular system, which simplifies decision-making during open-heart surgery,” explained Vitalii Demianchuk.

Every year, the Heart Institute performs hundreds of surgeries, with over 300 intraoperative ultrasound procedures completed in the past year alone. Thanks to the new equipment, this number will increase, saving even more lives.

“The new system is used daily in the operating block. It has proven especially valuable in cardiac surgery. In particular, it plays a crucial role in monitoring hemodynamics during operations on the heart and major vessels. It also helps assess the quality of the surgery performed, such as valve repair, and diagnose possible complications in patients,” added the Deputy General Director.
