19 children from Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions attended a camp in Berlin with the support of BGV Charity Fund

From June 28 to July 5, 19 children from the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions took part in a cultural and educational camp in Berlin. Seven full days of new experiences — filled with walks, discoveries, games, warm connections, and a long-awaited sense of safety.

This is the second year in a row that BGV Charity Fund has had the opportunity to join this initiative. It’s an honor for us and, at the same time, a continuation of our ongoing work to provide psychosocial support for children from military families, families of fallen defenders, and internally displaced persons.

Over the week, the children explored Berlin and its surroundings, enjoyed a boat ride on the Spree River, cooked together during a workshop at the Kreuzberger Himmel restaurant, and visited the theater, the Upside-Down House museum, the Bundestag, a rope park and most importantly, had time to just be kids: to play, laugh, and connect without fear.

All of this was made possible by Malteser in Deutschland as part of their Mentale Gesundheit Malteser Werke program and in partnership with Be an Angel e.V. 🫂

We are truly grateful to Malteser in Deutschland for their trust in our Fund and for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful initiative. Support like this is invaluable for Ukrainian children today. We believe that a caring environment, encouragement, and the chance to experience something new play a crucial role in helping children regain balance and reconnect with the feeling of childhood. 🫶
