BGV Fund, together with the NGO “Youth of Ukraine,” DCA-NCA, and the European Union, procured uninterruptible power supplies and furniture for the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital

In February, the BGV Charity Fund, together with partners, purchased and delivered uninterruptible power supplies and furniture to the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital, totaling 500,000 hryvnias. The delivered items included:

  • 11 uninterruptible power supply units;

  • 2 legless racks;

  • 17 cabinets.

Anton Anatoliyovych Devyatko, Deputy Director for Quality of Medical Care, Infection Control, and Public Communications at the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital, noted that the uninterruptible power supplies were installed on X-ray machines, ultrasound devices, an echoencephalograph, and patient monitors in the intensive care unit. These devices must operate continuously as patient safety depends on their functioning.

“Power outages at the hospital occur regularly, especially after Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure — on average 15-20 times a year. Although the hospital has autonomous power sources, even brief switching to backup systems can cause disruptions in the operation of medical equipment. This is critically important for diagnostic procedures, as even a short loss of power can affect test results or damage the equipment,” explained Anton Anatoliyovych.

The installation of uninterruptible power supplies will ensure stable operation of medical equipment and guarantee a high level of medical services and safety for over 30,000 patients who visit the hospital annually.

The project “Light of Life: Ensuring Uninterrupted Medical Care for Children of Kherson Region” is implemented with the support of the NGO “Youth of Ukraine” in partnership with DCA-NCA and funded by the European Union.

We continue working towards our shared goal!
