On the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer, the Center for Resilience organized an event for the families of servicemen — the Day of Unity. The event was aimed at supporting those waiting for their loved ones from the front, discussing pressing issues, and finding ways to help.
The meeting began with a moment of silence in honor of those who gave their lives for Ukraine.
The event was moderated by Iryna Hladka, regional coordinator of the nationwide mental health program “How Are You?”, advisor to the head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration on IDP issues, humanitarian affairs, and mental health.
During group sessions, participants discussed the following topics:
“How can I help within my own capabilities?”
Challenges faced by families of military personnel and veterans.
Forms of support available to defenders’ families at the Center for Resilience.
The discussion included contributions from:
Natalia Ostapchenko — First Deputy Head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.
Olena Hryshchuk — Head of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Zhytomyr RMA.
Denys Sokolovskyi — Head of the Veterans Policy Department of Zhytomyr RMA.
The Director of the Center for Resilience, Liliya Sokolyuk, presented the Center’s work, shared information about ongoing programs, and announced support groups for military families.
Participants who had already attended the Center’s events shared their impressions about the emotional support they received, the sense of community, and the importance of such initiatives.
The event became another step toward building a supportive community for military families.
