How to cope with emotional burden: psychological support for emergency service rescuers

Emergency Service Rescuers of DSNS face extreme situations daily. Their work requires not only physical endurance but also emotional resilience. To help them overcome today’s challenges, the Life Resilience Center team conducted a training session at the Main Department of DSNS of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region.

Fear, apathy, exhaustion — familiar feelings that can affect relationships with family and colleagues. Instead of avoiding these emotions, it is important to learn to recognize, understand, and work through them. During the training, participants:

  • Discussed how to safely and clearly express their feelings.

  • Explored behavioral strategies in stressful situations that help find inner resources even in the hardest moments.

  • Developed “steps to recovery” — practical actions to keep moving forward despite emotional difficulties.

Participants received practical tools to work with negative emotions and transform them into inner strength.

While saving others, it is crucial not to forget to care for oneself. The Life Resilience Center’s mission is to be there, providing support and helping to find resources for a life full of strength and balance.
