On July 4th, Anna Butkevych, the co-founder of BGV Charity Fund, participated in the opening of the exhibition “Treasures of Crimea. Return”, which took place at the Treasury of the National Museum of History of Ukraine.
The project was implemented by BGV Charity Fund in cooperation with the Institute of Public Communications and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The exhibition “Treasures of Crimea. Return” became possible thanks to the financial support of BGV Charity Fund.
As Anna Butkevych mentioned:
“In our team, we say that this is a project about jewels and values. And Ukrainian values are self-identity, preservation of history, and historical justice. Therefore, BGV Charity Fund and our Butkevych family could not but support the project of returning the Treasures of Crimea.”
The exhibition marked a milestone in restoring historical justice. After 10 years of litigation, the Scythian gold and other treasures were returned to Ukraine. Anna Butkevych emphasized, “We believe that Crimea will soon return for it.”
Among the guests at the opening were First Lady Olena Zelenska, representatives of the Presidential Administration, diplomats, ministry representatives, public figures, opinion leaders, and media.
Since July 5th, the exhibition, featuring 565 unique exhibits of our historical heritage, has been open to the public. The “Treasures of Crimea. Return” exhibition will remain permanent in the museum and will run until the final de-occupation of Crimea. After that, the collection is planned to be relocated to the peninsula.
BGV Charity Fund expresses sincere gratitude to the project’s media partners: Ukrinform, Suspilne Broadcasting, Hromadske, 1+1 Media, ICTV Fakty, Vikna Novyny, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle Ukraine, as well as the partners: Uklon, PrivatBank, and Vodafone.

In June 2023, Ukraine won a historic victory in international law when the Supreme Court of the Netherlands upheld the decision to return 565 items from four Crimean museums, stolen by Russia and exhibited at the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam.
