With BGV Charity Fund’s support, winners of the “Side by Side National School Leagues” regional competitions from Zhytomyr to participate in finals

The BGV Charity Fund has provided seven teams with sports uniforms for the final stage of the national school competitions, which will take place in Kyiv from June 13 to 16. Young athletes from across Ukraine will compete for first place in volleyball, basketball, futsal, orienteering, and cheerleading.

On June 12, all participants in the “Side by Side National School Leagues” finals were officially welcomed at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. Among the guests, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, gave a motivational speech to the young athletes. Acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvii Bidnyi also congratulated the participants.
The preliminary regional stage of the competition took place in Zhytomyr on May 18. Three hundred boys and girls from Berdychiv, Zviahel, Korosten, and Zhytomyr districts participated in the sports event. They competed in volleyball, basketball, futsal, orienteering, and cheerleading at seven venues.
The BGV Charity Fund provided all participants with sports uniforms. The fund also bought and delivered a mascot doll of “Lynx” and prizes for the first, second, and third places, including medals, cups, and plaques. The BGV Fund also purchased 50 electronic chips for orienteering and promotional materials to decorate the sports halls. The total budget for these contributions was about UAH 625,000.
Background
The “Side by Side National School Leagues” is a competition for students across Ukraine under the slogan “Together We Win.”
The competition has five exciting stages: school, local, district, regional, and national. It runs from September to June. The 2023/2024 season of the “National School Leagues” is scheduled from December 2023 to June 2024 and will include basketball, volleyball, futsal, orienteering, and cheerleading.
The goal of the event is to increase the number of students regularly engaging in sports and leading healthy lifestyles.
