This holiday was officially introduced by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. Volunteers first appeared in our country in the 1990s, with the volunteer movement gaining significant popularity after the Revolution of Dignity and the beginning of the first Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
The number of volunteers has grown after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers and caring people, alongside volunteers and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our country withstood the attack on February 24, 2022, and continues to resist the enemy today — for the second consecutive year.
The BGV Charity Fund was established in March 2022 by the initiative of the business — the BGV company — and volunteers who wanted to mobilize assistance for Ukrainians and Ukraine during the war, contributing to support and rebuilding the country after victory.
As of December 2023, professionals within the BGV fund actively contribute to mobilizing assistance for the country on a voluntary basis, forming a substantial part of the organization’s efforts.
So, the BGV Charity Fund congratulates every volunteer whose unwavering desire and tireless efforts help Ukrainians in need today and support our defenders.
