The BGV Charity Fund of Hennadiy Butkevych has handed over vehicles and generators to defenders in Zhytomyr region

The BGV Charity Fund of Hennadiy Butkevych continues to assist the Zhytomyr region in terms of economic, social, and defense support. On February 13, the BGV Fund delivered seven new Mitsubishi L200 vehicles to meet the needs of the military, border guards, rescuers, and law enforcement agencies in Zhytomyr region. The representatives of the fund also handed over 20 generators, which will be delivered to defense infrastructure facilities in Zhytomyr region, ensuring their continuous operation during power outages and disruptions in the electricity supply to the region. The total amount of assistance was 12.4 million UAH.

On the same day, the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration and the BGV Charity Fund of Hennadiy Butkevych signed a memorandum of cooperation to unite efforts aimed at supporting the Zhytomyr region during Russia’s armed aggression on Ukrainian territory and in the post-war period.

“In this difficult time for the country, Zhytomyr region has united to support our defenders, as well as those who are especially in need due to the war. The memorandum we signed today with the BGV Charity Fund of Hennadiy Butkevych will significantly expand the opportunities for receiving and delivering such humanitarian aid. Today we are sending supplies for the military. This is very important, as our defenders are fighting the Russian occupiers daily and bringing us closer to Victory. Since the beginning of the war, Zhytomyr region has directed nearly 850 million UAH to support the military. Today’s event is a clear sign that we are not going to stop!” said the Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunetchko.

The key areas of cooperation between the fund and the administration include: humanitarian support – providing consumer and non-consumer goods to socially vulnerable groups in the region; organizing quality and systematic rehabilitation activities for citizens affected by military actions; assisting local governments and military formations in Zhytomyr region; preparing invincibility points; strengthening defense capabilities and mobilization readiness; developing socially responsible projects aimed at the development of Zhytomyr region and its communities during the war and in the post-war period.

“The BGV Charity Fund team is focused on systematic support for Zhytomyr region. Today we officially signed a memorandum of cooperation with our colleagues, but Hennadiy Butkevych and his team have been supporting the region and its residents for many years, implementing numerous social and sports projects together, including those aimed at supporting children’s football in Zhytomyr region, helping the elderly, families with newborns, supporting hospitals, educational institutions, and investing in the infrastructure of districts. We believe in Ukraine. We believe in Zhytomyr region,” emphasized the Director of the BGV Charity Fund, Polina Aldoshina.

The next steps under the memorandum will include the delivery of communication equipment and stoves for defenders in Zhytomyr region, as well as assistance with completing the “invincibility points.”

Note:
The BGV Charity Fund of Hennadiy Butkevych was created to organize assistance to Ukraine during the war and to rebuild the country after victory. The main areas of the fund’s work are humanitarian aid to vulnerable groups, support for medical institutions, children’s initiatives, and educational projects. Over the 11 months of the full-scale war, the BGV Charity Fund delivered 300 trucks of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. As part of aid distribution, Zhytomyr region received 280 tons of food, medicines, clothing, and hygiene products from the fund.

In December 2022, the BGV Charity Fund, together with its partners, launched the humanitarian initiative “Everyone Matters.” The goal of the project is to help elderly people in Zhytomyr region with comprehensive food packages. In the first wave of the project, the charity funds “Chisty Seretsya” and BGV collected and delivered 20,000 food packages to territorial communities in Zhytomyr region for people aged 70+ — with a primary focus on elderly individuals living alone.

At the end of 2022, the Zhytomyr City Council and the BGV Charity Fund also signed a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen the interaction between the fund and the city council. As part of this cooperation, the BGV Charity Fund has already delivered 15 generators, 40 stoves, and 5 tons of food (groats) to the city of Zhytomyr’s “invincibility points” and critical infrastructure enterprises.

One of the main directions of the BGV Fund’s activity is helping children. Together with partners, the Fund purchased and delivered 92,500 portions of baby food from Poland to Ukraine. The aid was distributed across 13 regions. In total, 32 organizations in Ukraine, including maternity hospitals and charity funds in Zhytomyr region, received the humanitarian shipment of baby food. Among the projects the Fund is currently implementing is a large-scale initiative for newborns, within which 20,000 families with infants have received assistance worth over 2 million euros. The project covered 22 regions of Ukraine, and the aid packages were delivered to 1,958 towns, villages, and settlements. In particular, 725 babies under the age of two months in Zhytomyr region received assistance as part of the project.

The fund works for the protection, restoration, and development of Ukraine. The BGV Charity Fund’s partners include responsible businesses from both Ukraine and Europe: the charity collaborates with companies in Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, the United Kingdom, Romania, and others.
